Derby Museums from Home: a microsite from Derby Museums.
Derby Museums has launched a brand new microsite, Derby Museums from Home, making new online content accessible throughout the lockdown. Derby Museums includes the Joseph Wright Gallery studio museum.
The hashtag, #MuseumFromHome, first emerged on social media in March as museums around the world were forced to close in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. It has since grown to become a global phenomenon with museums near and far taking to the web to showcase their collections digitally and engage with their audiences in all manner of creative and innovative ways.
Derby Museums has now created its very own Derby Museums from Home microsite, which will make exciting new content accessible throughout the lockdown, including an impressive selection of videos and podcasts. Visitors can take a virtual tour of past exhibitions; explore Sound Cloud pieces created for the Nature gallery; or listen to curator interviews behind-the-scenes. More content will be added over the coming weeks including videos, blogs and audio recordings focussed on museum objects, collections and activities.
