We've uploaded our 100th artist's studio museum!

We launched the Artist's Studio Museum Network in January 2016. Nine months later, Hill Top, Cumbria, becomes our 100th museum.

The Artist's Studio Museum Network was set up by Watts Gallery - Artists' Village, a studio museum in Compton, UK, with the aim of promoting and linking the artist's studio museums of Europe, and encouraging research into the history and theory of the artist's studio.

We launched in January 2016, with 30 museums featured on this site. On 31 October, we uploaded Hill Top, former home of Beatrix Potter in Cumbria, UK - our 100th studio museum.

The network now spans from Cumbria to Reykjavík, Cavtat, Moscow and Madrid, with museums featured from nineteen different countries across Europe.

Over the coming year, we're be hoping to grow it even more - we estimate there are another hundred still to find and feature.

We are also going to be looking into offline events and collaboration opportunities, to find new ways that these museums can support each other, to continue research into the artist's studio, and to raise the profile of these charismatic spaces across Europe.

Would you like to join the network?

Do you know, or represent, a European artist's studio museum that isn't currently in our network? Please get in touch and let us know!
